LMT50307 Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology

This qualification is part of the Textiles, Clothing and Footwear Training Package. It is designed for people who want to acquire a range of technical and theoretical skills needed to work in supervisory positions in the design, manufacturing or retail areas of the fashion industry. Students will gain practical skills such as how to draw and interpret basic sketches, identify fibers and fabrics, develop patterns and use a sewing machine, how to prepare and produce garments, and how to conduct quality assurance for patterns and garments. Students will learn how to design and produce customized, tailored and designed garment ranges and develop a professional design portfolio. Students will also have the opportunity to put their practical skills to use by competing for prestigious industry awards and competitions. This program provides students with skills to pursue promising careers in the fashion industry as a clothing designer, technical adviser, patternmaker, sample machinist, or in marketing, merchandising and retail opportunities.

What do I do after I graduate?

Students who graduate from Meee Australia College with a Diploma in Applied Fashion Design and Technology are qualified to work as a Fashion Designer or related fields within the Fashion Industry.
